Indie Authors Press (London, UK/Santiago, Chile) has offered a publishing contract for MacGUFFIN, a modern day Hitchcockian film/noir murder mystery/thriller by Roy C. Booth of Bemidji, MN and John F. Mollard of Virginia, MN.
The 102,000 word book will be published as an e-Book, paperback, and hardcover and in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. IAP is expecting a fall release.
Indie Authors Press founder Jorge Salgado-Reyes said, “We are big fans of both Roy C. Booth and John C. Mollard whom we have previously published and we felt this novel naturally fits into our publishing strategy and will get readers excited. ”
Booth and Mollard, both Bemidji State University alumni, first met in college while attending various scriptwriting and film classes. They stayed in touch after graduation and began collaborating on film scripts, of which MacGUFFIN originally started out as, eventually being optioned to be made into a full length motion picture by the Haze Agency (Las Vegas/Burbank) but never made it to full production.
Booth is a published author, poet, essayist, comedian, and as an internationally awarded playwright, has 57 plays published with over 800 productions in 29 countries and 10 languages who hangs out at his comic book store in Bemidji when not writing. The novel is Mollard’s first major publication and he is employed as a Certified Registered Central Sterilization technician at Essentia Health-Virginia Medical Center.
