Today was not a very auspicious day. I awoke feeling under the weather. Then I remembered I had to pay a bill and do some shopping. So by 11:30 I was going out trying to leave behind any thoughts re my pains and ackes. I could not avoid going by the chemist to buy some pills for the strong burning I felt down my throat.

At around 4 pm I was back home. Things had not been so bad. The bill was duly paid, my shopping included lots of vegetables and fruit.

Then Raul came to me with his face contorted in desperation. He said: they were here again! I went to look at what he meant.

Yes, a bedside table had disappeared. Then I noticed a duvet had gone as well. I went into the next room. The statue of Isis, Yemanya, 2 other Egypcian gods, the serpent, 2 big Chinese plates, all the Chinese gods, the big copper bowl, my electric kettle, a Chinese golden egg, my newly acquired vacuum cleaner. They left the washing machine ready to take it away, the same they did with the big green fridge-freezer.

My anger knew no bounds. All I wanted was to have a machete at hand and cut their heads off.

I was sure they were the same people who robbed us last year. They entered by the same point, they left tracks of the vehicle they used. They went leaving the door politely closed on leaving.

I called the police, called my next door neighbour, called the gardener. They all came and went.

Tonight, I wonder about when they will stricke again. I ponder about how to twart their actions.

I wish to be one of the Egypcian gods who are thought to kill whomever enter the sacred tombs in far away Egypt.
